Student organization "Steleks" together with Balkan Youth Agency will host the European Young Engineers conference in Sarajevo from Friday 30 May to Sunday 1 June 2014, with the theme ‘Common Purpose’. We will talk about a lot of different stuff, having the focus on engineering in The Balkans and broader. During this three day conference we will offer young engineers the opportunity to explore this theme during talks and presentations, industrial visits and workshops. The total cost for this conference will be €160 per delegate and will include two nights accommodation, food, public transport, experienced guides, support in the case of possible extended stay, your choice of industrial visits and galadinner.
About Balkan Youth Agency
BYA - Balkan youth agency was established with following goals, purposes and interests: 1. Strengthening the civil society in which the opinion of young people matters. Its founders believe that young educated people should be carriers of social, economic and political progress, and that they have right to shape their own future by having access to decision making progress at all levels;
2. Development and implementation of informal education of youth;
3. Developing of peace building culture and peaceful coexistence, trough learning skills for peaceful solving problems;
4. Encouraging the younger generation to participate in politics and bring new fresh vision of their society. Intercultural exchange of students and youth, traveling in the region and learning ones history;
5. Providing scholarships for youth and students;
6. Providing good remodels for young people who feel as unfits in the society;
7. Encouraging entrepreneurial spirit among youth.
BYA is seated in Sarajevo and it has desire to expand its activities in the region.
About STELEKS
STELEKS (STudent ELEctrotechnical Club and Service) is founded in Sarajevo in 1968, as a main foundation for students of electrical engineering at University of Sarajevo. Through their history, STELEKS has been always known as a very famous organization, which organizes loads of different activities and events. Before the Bosnian war, they even had their own cafe bar, where it was a point for all university students in Sarajevo. At present they are seated at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo's Campus.
About European Young Engineers (EYE)
EYE is a dynamic and rapidly growing organisation with enthusiastic members, presently consisting of 23 associations and representing more than 150,000 young engineers in Europe. EYE offers its member organisations and their students and young engineers the access to a Europe-wide network by linking the engineering associations. More member associations are also expected to join in the near future. EYE offers conferences two times a year, each one bringing together between 80 and 300 participants from all over Europe.The EYE Information System is the informal meeting place of the European Young Engineers. Everybody interested in sharing experiences and in supporting EYE may register and enter his/her data.EYE-Contact, the journal of the European Young Engineers, contains short articles about subjects of interest for European young engineers.
